Do you ever feel drained, mentally exhausted, or like there's a buzz in the background of your head after you spend time with other people?

If you're intuitive, you've probably experienced this to some degree. It's not all bad. There doesn't need to be a binary in how we think and feel regarding our energetic experiences. But we can keep an eye on it and find ways to preserve and support our mental wellbeing.

Here is where recovery, rest and reset come into the picture.

As we grow up, we should learn Energetic Recovery from our caretakers, teachers, and people around us. The way our brains work is to learn through visual and communicative examples. Sadly, this isn't what typically happens since our culture doesn't observe and support the natural need for recovery and rest.

Most of us have grown up watching our parents and grandparents participate in hustle culture, prioritizing speed and convenience while waiting for Friday night when they can size up each other's weekly work-related hardships.

The truth is our body and mind require time to recover more than our time off or a vacation. How we support our bodies in getting wholesome rest from weekly stress is what we should be clinking our glasses to on weekends! Like all things in nature, our body and mind need a regular refresh, and we do that by resting. We don’t have to keep living our lives from a half-full cup!

How do you fight rest, how can you bring in a grounding and return to your heart center?

How can you bring more emotional clarity, sovereignty and open your mind to courageous insights through energetic recovery?

How can you continue to show up for yourself and the community you tend?

Self-Care Rituals for Energetic Recovery:

  1. Set your alarm on a low sound setting.

  2. Start your day by drinking water or Solstice Tea before diving into your coffee mug. There is evidence that waiting one hour before drinking our morning coffee helps keep our cortisol levels down throughout the day.

  3. Have a morning ritual. This can change daily- making extra time for yourself first thing in the morning before jumping into tasks.

  4. Take a break- for lunch, a walk with your dog, or a 20-minute nap. You can think of it as a tea time or a siesta. Afterward, you'll feel grounded and better able to finish your tasks for the day, the definition of an energetic reset.

  5. If you're into tarot or affirmation cards, this can be a time of reflection and can be therapeutic, especially if your mind is in a loop.

  6. Let the sun kiss your skin. Spending 10-minutes outside is an instant burst of feel-good chemicals that help your body receive energy and relax simultaneously.

Remedies that Support Energetic Recovery:

  3. Kava Chai, make a cup of this when you need to release tension that's building up in your body.

  4. Brian Food in your morning coffee or use it as a coffee alternative and boost your adaptive skills.
