A new spin on the famous Italian dessert

Originating as an Italian dessert, affogato translates to "drowned." An affogato is simply a scoop of vanilla gelato or ice cream drowned in a freshly made shot of espresso, but we are replacing the espresso with a shot of Kava Chai.

This is one of the most simple sweet treats to make that tastes anything but basic. It's consumed as the ice cream and chai melt into a glorious, bittersweet puddle of yum!

Since our Kava Chai is caffeine-free, we think it makes for a cozy coffee alternative drink for those of us who are watching our caffeine consumption or who don’t love coffee. With our Kava Chai honey concentrate, we think this makes the perfect light dessert any time of the day.


Kava Chai Affogato Recipe

Ingredients

1 tablespoon - Kava Chai

2 ounces - hot water

1-2 scoops - your favorite vanilla ice cream

How to Make a Kava Chai Affogato

  1. Dissolve Kava Chai in hot water.

  2. Scoop your ice cream into a small bowl or mug.

  3. Pour the Kava Chai “shot” over ice cream.

  4. Enjoy with a spoon.
