The World's Largest Sound Bath & City-wide Meditation

  • Columbus Commons 160 South High Street Columbus, OH, 43215 United States (map)

Join us on World Peace Day at the Columbus Commons for a city-wide meditation & the world's largest sound bath with 30+ sound healers.

On The International Day of Peace, September 21st 2023

We are hosting a city-wide meditation & attempting the world's largest sound bath at the Columbus Commons.

What is a sound bath?

A sound bath is a meditative and therapeutic listening experience where you are "bathed" in sound, much like a concert. This experience is usually done lying on a yoga/exercise mat while a sound practitioner plays a variety of instruments, typically singing bowls, chimes, and gongs.

Published studies have shown the benefits of sound baths to include a decrease in stress, an increase in relaxation, improved sleep, and more.

hOm sound baths, held here in Columbus, are unique in that they involve musical instruments like piano, guitar, and violin in addition to the standard instruments expected at a sound bath.

**For our sound bath at lower.com we will have a full band of guitar, piano, violin, cello, vocals, and more in concert with over 30+ singing bowl practitioners moving throughout the field creating what we are calling an "ocean of harmony," you won't want to miss this experience.

Will I be on the field?

Yes, the sound bath and meditation will be taking place ON the field, isn't that cool?

But look, we know that lying on an exercise mat for an hour isn't for everyone, so we also have seats available in the stands.

Community Healing

Community Healing ✨

We are hosting a city-wide meditation & attempting the world's largest sound bath on lower.com field.

Why a city-wide meditation?

A moment in mindfulness, intention, and rest for ourselves, for our neighbors, and for our city.

A chance to come together as community and focus on the well-being of Central Ohio.

The increase in violent crime, mental health, and loneliess are the three main focuses we want to address. Studies have shown group meditations have an impact on reducing violent crime rates within metropolitan areas. We want Columbus to be another case study of the impact that a community with intention can make on it's well-being. Meditation has proven, lasting benefits on mental health and creates a space to rest, process, and release stored emotion in the mind and body.

You don't need to be an experienced meditator to attend. You just have to be a living, breathing person with a heart willing to give an hour for yourself and for your neighbor. This experience is for everyone from the beginner to the pro.

And we want to address the loneliess pandemic by bringing people together, create a place where friends can be made and communities can gather. In a letter from the surgeoun general he stated:

"Loneliness is far more than just a bad feeling—it harms both individual and societal health. It is associated with a greater risk of cardiovascular disease, dementia, stroke, depression, anxiety, and premature death. The mortality impact of being socially disconnected is similar to that caused by smoking up to 15 cigarettes a day. And the harmful consequences of a society that lacks social connection can be felt in our schools, workplaces, and civic organizations, where performance, productivity, and engagement are diminished."
